SHORELINE EROSION REPORTS

STONE STABLIZATION

Purpose: Use of stone or rock to reinforce shorelines, preventing further erosion. This technique typically involves placing rocks in specific patterns or grids. On top of a geo-textile fabric that keeps soils on land.
Common Applications: Protecting coastlines, riverbanks, or lake shores from ongoing erosion by wave action, wind, animals, or water flow.

SHORELINE RE-GRADING

Purpose: Re-shaping or re-contouring the land along the shoreline to reduce erosion or improve water flow. This may involve removing materials or adding fill to modify the existing slope of the shoreline.
Common Applications: Areas with steep or unstable slopes that are prone to erosion, or where the natural flow of water needs to be redirected.

COIR LOG INSTALLATION

Purpose: Installation of biodegradable coir logs (made from coconut fiber) along shorelines or watercourses to prevent erosion while allowing for natural vegetation growth.
Common Applications: Sensitive or environmentally protected areas where more traditional, permanent erosion control structures might not be appropriate.

NATIVE SHORELINE RESTORATION
